Our Shepherds

“Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, serving as overseers–not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be…” 1 Peter 5:2-3


WCBOYCEW.K. Boyce has served as a shepherd since 2015. He graduated from David Lipscomb University in 1973 with a BA in Bible. In 1985 he received a Master of Marriage and Family Therapy degree from Abilene Christian University College of Biblical Studies. In full-time pulpit ministry for 16 years, W. K. served the Church in Kentucky, Texas, and Missouri, and was Director of a counseling ministry with the church for 17 years here in Springfield. In 2006, W.K., along with Ken Boyce and Stephanie Mitchell, co-founded the Springfield Marriage and Family Institute.

W.K. and his wife Pat have been married 45 years. They have two sons, three daughters, and 10 grandchildren. He enjoys spending time with family members and friends, trout fishing, and collecting Abraham Lincoln memorabilia. Most of all, he enjoys date night with Pat every week.


GREGHGreg Humphrey has served at East Grand since 2000 and began serving as a shepherd August 23, 2015. Greg grew up with the S. National Church of Christ and became a Christian in 1977 after being mentored by one of the leaders of the college outreach group. It was during this period of time that Greg developed a love of scripture, prayer, discipling and mentoring. From 1979 through 1995 God called Greg and his wife, Mary to be a part of a ministry team that began a church plant in Hillsboro, Oregon.

Greg and Mary have been married since April, 1980 and have three sons and several grandchildren. Their love for children, especially teenagers, has lead to fostering numerous children in their home and group home settings.

Greg’s desire is to win and disciple hearts and souls to heaven that all may one day hear their name being read from the “Book of Life”.


LOURLou Rumker has been serving East Grand since placing membership in 2008. He has taught several Bible classes as well as leading small groups and Wednesday night devotionals. In addition to this, he has served on our maintenance committee and been the liaison between the Oak Grove Community Association at East Grand.

Lou has been married to Karen since 1981. They have two children and four grandchildren.

Lou’s interest is in serving our senior saints to ensure their wellbeing. Personal interests include old cars and sports.


TEBOWJohn Tebo began serving as a shepherd August 23rd, 2015. He graduated from Harding University in 1991 with a degree in Youth Ministry and a Business Management minor.

John is married to Kim and they have four children, three sons and a daughter. His interests include family, golf, outdoors, and sports.

John is presently a Sales Consultant for Batesville Casket Company. He has over 24 years of sales and management experience.

He graduated from Harding University with a BS in Biology and went on to attain his MD from the University of Missouri at Columbia, MO. Bob has specialized in internal medicine and now works at the MSU Taylor Health Clinic.

Bob is married to Janet and they have three daughters and eight grandchildren.

Bob’s interest is in missions and his area of responsibility is the work in Nicaragua. He has been on every medical mission trip to Nicaragua that East Grand has sponsored. His personal interests include long distance cycling and photography.




















He was self-employed for over 30 years in the appliance business. At present, he is a real estate investor with real estate rentals in two states.


Ken and Bev have been married since 1955. They have two children, three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.


Ken’s hobbies include golf and work!


His areas of interest are prayer, visitation and Leaven Groups.
